Rangers Adventures

Outdoor Skills, Natural History & Wilderness Survival

Train outdoor and naturalist skills. Learn about outdoor safety, plants, animals, navigation, ecology, wilderness survival and more. Expert Guides from our Rangers Guild lead awareness focused camps with hands-on skills and observation. Kids share experiences, embarking on online and sometimes even outdoor adventures.

How It Works

All programs are Pacific Time (PT). They can be a single day or weekly series. Since our Trackers Teachers and Guides are online and your kids are at home, different programs ask different levels of guardian supervision.

Learn to safely bring your woodworking skills to the next level by creating your own tools for the kitchen. In this class we cover first aid, safety, advanced grips and cuts, and wood grain direction.
Materials:
2 inch diameter branch (green, freshly cut)
Morakniv or fixed blade carving knife
Pencil / Sharpie
Since we will be using hand tools, we highly recommend freshly cut (green) wood for the projects we do in class. This allows the wood to be softer, and much more workable with a knife.
The type of wood is also important
Here are some examples of highly recommended types
Paper Birch
Red Alder
Cherry
Basswood
Willow
Tulip Poplar
